WFP & SHS At the Glance General Food Distribution in Five Governorates October 2018

SHS in partnership with World Food Programme has operated in five governorates (Al-Dhale’e, Ibb, Hajjah, Shabwa and Taiz) to enhance the food security to targeted vulnerable population dwelling in those governorates. The targeted and assisted beneficiaries consisted of internally displaced people and vulnerable hosting communities.
The main objective of the intervention was saving lives and the wellbeing of the targeted people. SHS assisted total 108,011 beneficiaries with dry food basket comprises of wheat flour, pulses, cooking vegetable oil, sugar and rice.
The rations scale for each family stands as 50 kg of wheat flour, 10 kg of pulses, 20 kg of rice, 10 liter of cooking oil, 2.5 kg of sugar

The distribution of this humanitarian assistance has also emanated from the SHS main mission & vision statement and its objectives.
People have the right to food as basic human rights that ensures survival and upholds their dignity based on transparency and accountability to the beneficiaries through enhanced targeting methodology with food to those mostly in need, at the right time, right place and fast.
