Al- Maharh benefitted distribution of 3750 Emergency Rapid Response Kits (RRK)

On Tuesday, 30 October 2018, Society for Humanitarian Solidarity (SHS) carried out distribution of humanitarian community’s response (UNFPA, UNICEF, UNHCR and WFP). The distribution consisted of emergency Rapid Response Kits (RRK). The assistance was directed to population affected by the Luban cyclone and the subsequent tropical storms that struck into the Al-Mahra Governorate. The assisted population consisted of internally displaced people as well as the residing population.
A total of RRKs was provided to 2,000 families in the districts of Al-Ghaida, Sayhut, Qishn, Al-Masilah and Hawf. These districts faced a huge physical damages caused by the cyclone Luban on the houses and social and economic infrastructure.
The distribution operation was coordinated with the local authorities of the concerned districtssuch as Deputy Governor of Al-Mahrah, the Director of the Governorate Health Office, District Director of Al-Ghaida and theHead of the Humanitarian committee in the government.

On Wednesday, 31 October 2018, SHS distributed total 253 RRKs to persons with special needs in the presence of Executive Director and General Manager of Yemen Persons with Disabilities Association, Mr. Salem Hussain, who was supervising the activities. The RRK distribution operation is still ongoing at Al-Ghaydah Directorate to assist all the vulnerable people.
