SHS Shelter Project in Aden

On 25 May, 2019, the Society for Humanitarian Solidarity (SHS) carried out Shelter project with financial support of Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF). This Shelter project implementation modality was through cash assistance distributed to displaced families and most needy hosting communities.
Total of 600 displaced families and their vulnerable and needy host communities were assisted.
This Shelter project is located in Aden within the districts of Sheikh Osman, Crater, Dar Saad and Bureqa.
The Shelter project emanated from the framework of the humanitarian response plan to improve the conditions of the internal displaced people and disadvantaged hosting communities. According to humanitarian standards and distribution performance in Aden governorate, the cash assistance was delivered through exchange agencies’ depot, which were closer and safer to the beneficiaries who are gender sensitive and to safeguard their dignity.
The project was ongoing and under implementation stage since December 2018.
The project objectives are on track and it is intended to alleviate the suffering of the displaced and the host community by granting them with rentals subsidy as temporary shelter, safe and protection condition.
