Mayfa’a Reception Center MRC –Shabwa

Mayfa’a Reception Center is located in Yemen, Shabwa governorate 420 Kilo meter east from Aden city. Its estimated area 13 thousand square meters; it contains temporary shelters for new arrivals, small clinic and offices for other organization working in the center.

Mayfa’a Reception Center is accommodate to receive 800 new arrival at the same time, the center was established in 1996 to cope the great flow of refugees in the areas surrounded to Myafa’a ,where the center is a way from the seashores about 35 kilo meter.

Society for Humanitarian Soldiery SHS has managed the center since its establishment in 1996 until now; lately two international organizations be joined Danish Refugee Council DRC which is responsible of registering the new arrivals, and INTERSOS which is responsible of searching the social aspects of refugees.

Other services and the center management inside the center such as nutrition, the medical assistant and other services are SHS responsibilities, where the refugees stay between 2 or 3 days until they finished the registration process in the center, then refugees who want to be transported to Kharaz camp which far away 600 Kilometer west and the rest transporting between Yemeni cities by the documents they have from the center.

Ahwar Reception Center ARC –Abyan

Ahwar Reception Center is located in Yemen, Abyan governorate 220 Kilo meter east from Aden city. Its estimated area 34 thousand square meters; it contains temporary shelters for new arrivals, small clinic and offices for other organization working in the center.

Ahwar Reception Center is accommodate to receive 2000 new arrival at the same time, the center was established in 2008 to cover part of Aden Gulf coasts, where the center is a way from the seashores about 30 kilo meter, and the Society of Humanitarian Solidarity supervised the establishment of the center and its management, lately Danish Refugee Council DRC organization joined the center as responsible of registering the new arrivals and the rest services are SHS responsibilities.

The refugees stay in the center between 1 and 3 days until the registration process is complete, then the refugees go with the documents they took from the center to the place they want, where the families that choose Kharaz camp are being helped to reach the camp.

Mayfa’ Hagr Accommodation center MTC – Hadramut

Mayfa’ Hagr Accommodation center is located in Buroom distinct, Mayfa’ Hagr area, Hadramut governorate 500 Kilo meter east from Aden city. The center established in 2009, the goal of establishing is to accommodate the refugees from coasts and then transport them to reception centers in Mayfa’a or Ahwar after taking rest from three to four hours.

This area is been chosen because it mediates the entry points that refugees arrive from, recently a small clinic is being opened in the center. The center receives most of new arrivals in Aden Gulf.

Kiada Refugees Transit Center KRTC – Shabwa:

This center located in Shabowa governorate, Rudhom distinct 400 kilometer east Aden, KRTC is a small center covers from Bir Ali area at east about 40 kilometer to Al_ Nushiama at west. The refugees been received and after taking rest from 2 to 4 hours they have been transported to Mayfa’a center,the center has a small clinic to provide first aid assistance to refugees.
