SHS inaugurates the formation of FACs in Arma District in Shabwa governorate.

1As part of its commitment to deliver the humanitarian assistance to the most needy /Vulnerable families, SHS stepped in implementing the second milestone which is the process of forming the SUFACs in the district of Arma, east of Shabwa governorate.

During the inauguration, SHS Operations manager Mr . Salah Laksar delivered a speech in which he thanked the local authorities and the various segments of the community at the district for their cooperation in building/forming new accurate databases for the beneficiaries ,who are to be benefited from the assistance provided by the World Food Program.

In the same context of the T&R , Mr.Abdul Mohsen bin Musaed,the Secretary- General of the Local Council of Arma district , has welcomed the humanitarian team thanking them for their efforts in providing the assistance to the people of the District , and expressing his gratitude toward the patience of the teams in enduring the hardships of the road in moving through the remote areas and rough roads in order to reach the targeted needy .

SHS team carried out many meetings in many electoral centres, subdistrcits, in Shabwa governorate in which it has been elaborated the criteria/standards of the formation of FACs , Food Assistance Committees , and the formation of the SUFACs (Sub-districts Food Assistance Committees ) in the Electoral center (sub district ) level , which was successfully conducted through Mobilizing the Community
at the level of the sub-district, for the inclusion of all sides in the society in to this step to choose is a crucial step.
Mr.Amr Abdulaziz , a monitoring and evaluation officer in SHS , stated that the formed SUFACS committees in the sub districts level , were selected by the people of the area it self .Each SUFAC consisted of eight members in every sub-district , he added that the members will be trained on the World Food program targeting and registration criteria for the vulnerable families and the registration and to be trained also on the whole T&R exercise coming steps and how to carry them out based on the WFP standards .

Ms.Fatoom Ali , M&E officer at SHS , emphasized on the importance of forming these committees in the implementation of the coming steps namely the field survey and identifying the most needy families in accordance with WFP T&R criteria, aiming to contribute to the development and improvement of their standards of living.
The process of forming and training the Food Assistance Community Committees is part of SHS plan to establish a precise & accurate database in the targeted districts and villages level in Shabwa governorate to reach the most needy groups that will be targeted within the humanitarian relief assistance provided by the World Food Program.
